Accommodation

Also available for longer stays, Jake's Cottage is situated 6 miles north north-east of Kelso on a working livestock and arable farm. The cottage is named after Jake Fairley who worked on the farm for 52 years and lived with his wife and family in the cottage for 38 years.
The cottage was the main farmhouse before the current farmhouse was built 180 years ago. We have tried to retain much of the character of Jake's Cottage, whilst making it feel like a second home for those who stay. The sitting/dining room has an open fire, TV, hi-fi and DVD. At the front there's a small garden with BBQ, table and chairs. Stabling can be made available for ponies and horses subject to prior arrangement. We've also assembled a local information pack for anyone seeking ideas.
Also downstairs is a double bedroom with en suite shower room. The fully equipped kitchen is located at the back of the cottage. Access through the back door is via a washhouse/wet dog room, which also has access to the shower room for those who have really enjoyed the outdoors!
Upstairs are two double bedrooms, with six-foot zip-and-link beds, sloping roofs and stunning unobstructed views of the fields, and a bathroom.
The heating is electric and washing machine/tumble dryer are provided.
Jake's Cottage sleeps six. For more information please contact Alison or Robin Tuke on 01573 410797.
