Looking for a family and dog friendly holiday cottage in Scotland? The old farm house, renamed in honour of Jake Fairley who has worked at Hardiesmill for 53 years, is available for holiday lets. Easily reachable from the South by train (4hrs), flight (3hrs), and car (6.5 hrs), Jake's Cottage is convenient for such sites as Edinburgh, Lindisfarne, Roslyn Chapel, and Hadrian’s Wall. Furthermore, the local area boasts superb dog walking, cycling, fishing, riding, motor rallying, independent shops, history galore & some great pubs. Farm tours are encouraged and Jake, who started work in the days of horse & plough, is happy answer any questions.

Jake's Cottage is a traditional, stone-built, farm house in the Scottish Borders, thought to date back to the 1700s. It’s primarily self catering, though pre-prepared meals (mainly beef based) are available on requests. It sleeps six (two double bedrooms with 6ft zip & link beds (single or double) with sloping ceilings and scenic views on the first floor and a double bedroom with en-suite shower/W.C on the ground floor). It’s been recently refurbished, and boasts a living/dining room with open fire, a well-equipped modern fitted kitchen. Utility/wet dog room, a bathroom/W.C. and a small garden.
